Attorneys: Teen's Murder Trial Should Be Jury Of Peers

Jury Selection Begins Monday

Jury selection began Monday for a Westmoreland County teenager accused of killing his brother.

Police said Ian Bishop, 15, used a claw hammer to beat and kill Adam Bishop, 18, in April 2002.

Defense attorneys filed a motion that Bishop should be given a jury of his peers. The judge ruled that the jury would consist of people 18 years of age and older.

Ian's friend, Robert Laskowski, 15, is also charged with the death.

Laskowski will be tried at a later date.

Attorneys questioned several jurors Monday and selected 10. Jury selection continues Tuesday.

If convicted, Bishop could face life in prison without parole.
