BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. -- A Butler County man returned home to a hero's welcome after being injured in Iraq.
People lined the streets and cheered as Chief Warrant Officer Patrick Strobel returned to East Butler Wednesday night.
He was injured and lost a portion of his hearing when his humvee ran over a land mine in Fallujah last month.
Strobel was surprised by the outpouring of support from the community.
"(I'm) happy to be alive, for and getting a second chance at life. Then seeing all of this really adds another level to it. Its words can't really describe it," Strobel said.
Strobel said despite being injured, if he could, he would return to Iraq.
