McKEESPORT, Pa. -- A local man is arrested after a castration goes wrong; it's a story you'll see only on Channel 11 and WPXI.com.
Thursday, police in McKeesport arrested Doug Lenhart, 48, of Lower Burrell.
Police said the patient, a transgender female in her early 40s, hired Lenhart over the Internet to perform the castration.
But it went wrong and the patient was rushed to a hospital.
McKeesport police Chief Ron Williard said, "The victim was awake during the surgery and he couldn't control the bleeding. At that point they called the paramedics."
Lenhart is charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and unauthorized practice of medicine.
The patient is recovering at home.
