State Of Emergency Declared In Cranberry

Severe Weather Hits Pittsburgh Tuesday Afternoon

Officials in Cranberry Township issued a state of emergency Tuesday evening.

Emergency dispatchers said there is a partial collapse at the Cranberry Mall along Route 19.

Witnesses told Channel 11 News that construction at the former K-Mart site was heavily damaged.

Our cameras captured photos of a crushed trailer that construction workers were using.

Season, from Hollywood Video, told Channel 11 that windows at PNC Band were blown out and the front of an ATM machine was blown off.

Route 19 at Route 228 was shut down at 6 p.m. after gas fumes were reported in the area.

Officials said several people have been taken to local hospitals. But the extent of the injuries is not known at this time.

Police said several homes in the area have been damaged.
