Woman Accused In Phony Children's Hospital Fund Raising

Contact Police If You Think You Were Billings' Victim

A woman accused of phony fund raising for Children's Hospital was charged Monday.Donnele Billings

Nearly 24 local businesses thought they were giving to Children's Hospital in the last few years, but police said the woman collecting the money, Donnele Billings, was duping them and keeping the money.

Police said the 33-year-old woman showed laminated ID to several local business owners, acting as a representative of Children's Hospital.

Officials said she collected hundreds of dollars, claiming it was for a charity. Instead, police said she was supporting a drug habit.

Police said many business owners were shocked when they were informed of the crime.

Billings is scheduled for a formal arraignment on May 7.

Officials said any one who may have given money to Billings in the past is asked to contact police at (412) 422-6520.

Children's Hospital said to contact them first at (412) 692-5318 to make sure the donation and representative is legitimate.
