Elderly Squirrel Hill Woman Victim Of Scheme

Woman Not Hurt

A 90-year-old Squirrel Hill woman has become the victim of a home repair scheme.

Police said a man pretending to be a water repairman came to the home, flashed an identification card and told the woman he needed to check the water pressure.

He then went upstairs and stole $300 and a $100 U.S. savings bond.

Police are advising residents to always take a close look at identification cards, and if in doubt, call 911.
