SCOTT TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- No power and no working elevators -- and it could be that way for most of Wednesday at a Scott Township apartment complex.More than 100 people -- mostly elderly residents -- are waking up without electricity this morning after a power transformer blew overnight. The accident happened at the Manorview Apartments in Scott Township. The building was not evacuated and the damage was confined to the transformer.Duquesne Light said customer equipment failed and caused a fire that spread to the transformer and primary cable that leads to the building.Resident Al Cardamone said, "It sounded like firecrackers going off. It was like a bomb. That's what I thought it was at first."Utility workers said power may not be restored until 6 p.m.
