Student Risks Life, Performs Dangerous Stunts

PITTSBURGH -- Brian Crawford, 20, is a daredevil who dreams of being a Hollywood stuntman.
His actions landed Crawford not in the movies, but in handcuffs.Crawford may also be in trouble with his school.The home video Crawford made and starred in Wednesday on Interstate 279 would make just about anyone shudder with fear.The video was shot from inside his friend’s moving car as Crawford performed dangerous stunts outside of the moving vehicle.Crawford said he hangs on the side of the car, skis on the outside, and does ‘Superman,’ where he hangs vertically only a foot off the ground.Crawford said it is the adrenaline rush that makes the dangerous stunts fun and enjoyable.

The stunts performed by Crawford are criminal, said police.Police said Crawford and the three others inside the car face charges of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.Crawford and two of his friends are students at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.Crawford borrowed a video recorder from the school and planned to use the tape to get into stunt school in Australia.George Pry, President of the Art Institute said the stunt was foolish and shocking.Pry said it's a violation of use of school equipment. Crawford’s actions may result in disciplinary action as severe as expulsion.Thursday, Crawford said he wrote a letter of apology to school officials.
