Penn Hills Police Investigate Football Hazing Incident

Mungin Suffered Bloody Eye, Broken Nose

Police in Penn Hills are investigating after a local high school football player reported he was hazed by a teammate.

Stefon Mungin, 16, said his bloody eye and broken nose are the result of a hazing incident inside the locker room at Penn Hills High School.

Mungin said two of his teammates tried to put his head into a toilet after football practice last week.

He fought back but said he was jumped a few minutes later and beaten up.

Mungin said, "They were probably picking on me because they thought I wasn't going to do nothing about it. But they underestimated me."

Victim's father Bryan Mungin said, "He sustained a broken nose. He had hemorrhages in his eye, bleeding behind the retina."

Penn Hills police may charge the teens with simple assault.

The Penn Hills School District said it is looking into the allegations.
