Fire Destroys Bowling Alley In Glassport

GLASSPORT, Pa. -- Seven people had to be rescued from a burning business in Glassport.It happened in the 800 block of Monongahela Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night, just minutes after the owners closed the Glassport Lanes for the night.

Seven people living inside four apartments above the bowling alley are now homeless.The entire building was destroyed.The owners have insurance but said they are not sure whether they will rebuild.They had operated the bowling alley for 31 years.It was one of the last duck pin lanes in the area.The Red Cross is assisting those displaced by the fire.The blaze is not being called suspicious.
