A massive manhunt continues in the fatal shooting of a Pennsylvania state trooper.

The Allegheny County coroner said Cpl. Joseph Pokorny, 45, of Moon Township, died Monday of a gunshot wound to the chest. Police said he was shot multiple times.

His body was found in a parking lot the Extended Stay Hotel. That is near the Carnegie exit along the Parkway West.

Officials said the incident began as a traffic stop just after 2 a.m.

Police searched the hotel for the shooters, but were unable to find anything.

A few hours later, police surrounded a home on Sarah Street on the South Side.

Officials said a blood trail was found along Larkins Way, a nearby alley.

Channel 11's Rick Earle said several smoke-style grenades have been fired into the home, which is surrounded by officers with rifles.

Officials advised residents within a three-block area to stay inside their homes.

Shortly after 1 p.m., two people -- a man and a woman -- surrendered without incident.

Both suspects are in police custody, but no arrests or charges have been made.

Their names are not known.

Police said they are not exactly sure how many suspects were connected to the incident but they won't stop until they find the people they are looking for.

Police said a total of five people were brought to police headquarters.

Two men left in shackles and handcuffs.

State police are not naming the men and have not said if they are connected to the crime.

One came into police headquarters wearing street clothes and left wearing a police-issued orange jumpsuit.

Police set up a road bloack in Brookline Monday evening in search of another suspect, looking at every vehicle that passed by Brookline Blvd. by the Sunoco gas station.

Police are still looking for a black Mercury Sable, Pennsylvania license plate FXE-6527, involved in the killing of Pokorny.

Police said the driver could be armed and dangerous.

Please call state police with information on the car or this case.
