O'Connor Receives More Radiation

Fluid Buildup Has Decreased

Pittsburgh Mayor Bob O'Connor underwent a second course of whole brain radiation treatment for primary CNS lymphoma Friday afternoon.

His medical team at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center reported that his symptoms, including headache and lethargy, have lessened.

Doctors said that fluid buildup in his brain has decreased.

There are no plans to administer radiation therapy over the weekend.

A fluid buildup in O'Connor's brain forced doctors to put off surgery Thursday.

Instead, he underwent a 10-minute dose of whole brain radiation.

Those close to the mayor are concerned.

A church in the West End is organizing a day of prayer for the mayor.

The Hope Chapel is leading the charge.

To participate meet outside the city-county building in downtown Pittsburgh between 11 a.m. and noon next Tuesday.
