Allegheny County Sheriff sergeant arrested after domestic incident

PITTSBURGH — An Allegheny County Sheriff sergeant was arrested Sunday morning after a domestic violence incident at his home in Bridgeville, police said.

Sgt. Curtis Sowder, 28, was taken to the Allegheny County Jail on assault charges after the incident involving his spouse, police said. He later posted bail.

The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. Sowder, a 7-year veteran, has been placed on paid administrative leave.
