Avella man facing felony child porn charges, accused of victimizing girl, 13

WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. — An Avella man is facing felony child porn charges after he allegedly sent sexually inappropriate messages to a 13-year-old girl, who lives in Rostraver Township.

According to police, Perry Hamilton asked the teenager to send him naked photos while sending her sexually explicit messages, as well as a naked photo of himself.

Hamilton’s arrest did not come as a surprise to his ex-wife, Karli Cox.

“He would be on his phone in the living room in the middle of the night. (I) got ahold of it, and he was messaging all kinds of girls, the youngest like 12,” she said.

Cox told Channel 11 News that she feared he would go too far. She said she warned people about Hamilton’s behavior for years.

“I'm just happy it finally happened. When I was with him, no one wanted to listen,” Cox said.

Hamilton spoke with Rostraver Township police, telling them he meets women on the social network MeetMe.com but denied having any contact with minors, the criminal complaint stated.

Cox said she fears there may be others who her ex-husband contacted.

“I would (call him a predator) because he puts himself out there and claims to be younger than he is to get these girls to talk to him,” she said.

Sean Logue, Hamilton’s attorney, said his client has fully cooperated with authorities and is not a danger to society.
