Elizabeth Forward to delay start of school year due to bus contract issue

ELIZABETH, Pa. — Elizabeth Forward School District will be delaying the start of school until Monday due to a contract dispute with the bus company.

During the hearing, it was agreed upon that the bus company, Pennsylvania Coach Lines, would provide transportation for students for three weeks starting Monday while they work to reach an agreement with the district.

According to Pennsylvania Coach Lines, its agreement with the district expired in June, but the district says a new agreement was in place for this year.

While the two sides negotiate, district officials are left figuring out how students will make up the missed days of class and some parents are left scrambling to find child care.
