2 hurt after driver mistakenly hits gas, crashes into Scott Twp. building

SCOTT TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A car crashed into a commercial building in Scott Township Friday.

The accident happened on Greentree Road.

Channel 11's Renee Kaminski reported that the driver mistakenly hit the gas instead of the brakes, sending his car over a hillside and into a business in Scott Towne Center.

"It was very scary because the car was smoking," said witness Maureen Haley.

Police said the 87-year-old driver and his 45-year-old son survived the 100 foot plunge.

The victims were treated at the hospital for minor injuries and released.
