BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — A car reversed through two lanes of busy traffic in Beaver on Friday before going up onto a curb and hitting another car.
Beaver police said the 90-year-old World War II veteran told them he hit the gas instead of the brake. He took out cars and a tree and landed very close to two businesses.

Police said he was parked, gunned it across two lanes of busy traffic at the lunch hour, hit a car, jumped the curb and his vehicle spun around.

Samantha Krupp and her two children were shopping for a gift inside a local store and all of a sudden saw the car coming straight at them.
“I heard screeching and I saw a tree and a vehicle coming right at us in the window. My son was in the window at the time, so I immediately started screaming for him to get back.”
The cars, the tree and the debris right at the storefront kept customers inside for a while.
Nobody was injured.
Police say if the driver wants to get behind the wheel again, he'll have to retake his driver's test.
