Car goes through guide rail and into woods in Ross Township

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man was taken into custody after his car crashed through a guide rail and into the woods in Ross Township.

Firefighters responded to Bascom Avenue just before 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

From Chopper 11, a white vehicle was visible about 15 feet off the side of the road, resting against a tree. Firefighters had to use a saw to cut through the guide rail and pull the vehicle back onto the road.

learned there were four people in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Two of them were children. They were taken to Children’s Hospital to be evaluated.

Varnum reported that a 30-year-old man was taken into custody.

It’s not clear what charges he may face.

A woman was also in the vehicle. Varnum reported that she’s being charged with lying to police, telling them she was the driver of the vehicle.
