Miles Against Melanoma is a national 501c3 non-profit organization with events in 14 cities.  This will be the first in Pittsburgh.

The organization's mission is to fight melanoma by increasing awareness, supporting patients, survivors and families and funding important research.  Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer, killing an estimated 8,800 people in the US in 2011, but with early detection it can be very treatable.  Melanoma is also the fastest growing cancer in the United States and affects all ages and all skin types, regardless of whether or not you have ever used a tanning bed.

The Miles Against Melanoma PA events are sponsored by WPXI, Bella Diamond, Brooks Diamonds and 3 Rivers 6 Pack.
