During the speech, Trump addressed depressed manufacturing towns and how he plans to help America recover as president.

Focusing solely on trade, Trump mentioned that trade deals wiped out the American middle class.

"It's time to declare our economic independence once again," Trump said.

Many of Trump supporters agreed with the sentiments of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

"Our communities are falling behind," Trump said. "We have to take charge of our own destiny."

According to Channel 11's Courtney Brennan, a small group of protestors stood outside the speech.

"He doesn't understand what we have to face everyday," said protestor Maureen Dudas.

Trump unveiled a seven-point plan to help jumpstart the economy as well.
