Elderly driver crashes into Beaver County flower shop

BEAVER BOROUGH, Pa. — A driver who was trying to back up his car lost control, careened across the street and crashed into a flower shop.

Police said the man had just finished breakfast with friends. He started to back up his vehicle when he hit the gas, crossing both lanes of Third Street in Beaver Borough. The car went 15 feet over a curb, through a heavily-traveled sidewalk and smashed into Snyder’s Flowers.

“We were in the back and we heard this loud boom,” said owner Susan Brown. “We just want to tell people we do deliver flowers, but we are definitely not a drive-through.”

Amazingly, no one was hurt.

The doorway to the store has been temporarily fixed. The business is still open.
