PITTSBURGH —

How much is it worth to have a tuxedo-clad Sidney Crosby serve you dinner?

Some Pittsburghers dished out $10,000 for this experience, with proceeds benefiting two local foundations.

Not just Sidney, but the entire Pittsburgh Penguins team, traded their jerseys for formal wear at the Skates & Plates Charity Gala on Tuesday.

Since 1986, the team's annual benefit has raised over $4.8 million for medical research. This year, proceeds benefited the Western PA Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and The Mario Lemieux Foundation.

The event, presented by Trib Total Media, features the players serving as waiters for the evening.

The Carnegie Music Hall Foyer was the only place in town where you could spot Evgeni Malkin pouring wine and Max Talbot plating fillets.

Passing plates, instead of pucks, is a welcome change of pace for one fan favorite.

"It's the fourth year I think we're doing this," Max told Channel 11. "So you're getting used to it, kind of learn some tricks doing it, and it's really an enjoyable night for us. It's fun doing it because you share time with fans. It's fun to serve them and get to know them for a full night."

VIP tables were $10,000 dollars for 10 people and regular tables for 10 people were $7,500 each.
