Pittsburgh Designer Offers Free Design Advice

For those who could use a few spruce-up ideas for their home this spring, Pittsburgh interior decorator Cecilia Staniec offers some free advice!

A few of Cecilia's top tips this spring:

Reupholstering is always an option for furniture if it’s a good, solid piece and if it has sentimental value.

If you want to use the same fabrics on your furniture, you can add new throw pillows, change the area rugs or vary the floor coverings.

Go with a more neutral palette, the burnished gold tones and chocolates, so if you get a red sofa, it works just as well as a khaki colored sofa in such overall tones.

If you’re hesitant to ‘color commit’, bring color into the room through accessories, rather than through larger furnishings.
