PITTSBURGH —
Rihanna's injuries stemming from an alleged attack over the weekend by her boyfriend Brown are being described by police as "horrific," according to TMZ.com.
Brown was arrested late Sunday night on suspicion of making a criminal threat. TMZ and other media outlets identified Rihanna as Brown's alleged victim.
KISS DJs Mikey & Big Bob posted on 96.1 KISS' Web site that the move was dominated by listener feedback via text and phone.
According to the 96.1 KISS Web site, "It's what everybody wanted to talk about, listeners were outraged and wondered why we were continuing to support his music, we met with our music director on behalf of our audience to see if we could pull all Chris Brown songs from 96.1 Kiss until further information and legal clarity came forward."
"Our listeners have strong feelings about this," said music director and afternoon talent Bonics. “We have made the decision to take all Chris Brown songs off the radio, although we are fans of Chris’ music, and this will not last forever. It appears Chris made some poor choices, so we are following the lead of our listeners and will put his music on hold on 96.1 KISS until the alleged situation gets resolved."
96.1's sister station 96.5 KISS in Cleveland made a similar move earlier Tuesday in regard to the airing of Chris Brown's music.
