Weaver is perhaps best known for her roles in sci-fi epics like "Avatar" and the "Alien" series.
In "Abduction," Lautner, 18, stars as a young man who one day discovers his own baby picture on a missing persons website. Variety reports that Weaver will play his psychiatrist.

The story comes from a spec script by newcomer Shawn Christensen. The movie is set to shoot this July in Pittsburgh, with plans for a 2011 release. Gotham Group and Vertigo are producing along with Lautner's Tailor Made label.
John Singleton will direct the movie.
Lautner became famous for his role as Jacob Black in the "Twilight" movies. He has also appeared in "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl" and "Cheaper by the Dozen 2."
