FORT WORTH, TEXAS — After a month in the hands of a burglar, a Texas family has been reunited with their stolen dog.
Peaty was back with the Templetons on Friday.
Back in May, burglars broke into the family's house and stole a camera, jewelry, guitar... and the family pet.
Police say 19-year-old Ruben Gonzales, pawned the Templeton's guitar. Those pawn shop records led officers right to him.
The officer who found Peaty couldn't believe it when he came running up after he knocked on the suspect's door.
The family happened to be throwing a birthday party, when officers showed up with Peaty.
They say that the surprise gift is the best birthday present ever.
