FBI, police investigating bank robbery in Allegheny County

RESERVE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Allegheny County Police Department are investigating after a bank was robbed Friday morning in Reserve Township.

Allegheny Valley Bank on Mount Troy Road was robbed at 11:34 a.m. by two young men. The two were seen loitering in the vicinity of Star Automotive prior to the robbery.

Police said one robber wearing a gray hooded Nike sweatshirt pointed a silver/nickel colored handgun with a long slide at employees.

The second robber wore all black clothing with a black knit cap. He brandished a dark-colored handgun, jumped over the counter and took $2,256 from one of the tellers.

Both men were wearing gloves and masks over their faces.

The two were last seen heading in the direction of Troy Hill.
