Free WiFi could be reality at several Pittsburgh T stations by summer

PITTSBURGH — Free WiFi could be available to T riders in downtown Pittsburgh by the summer.

According to Channel 11's news exchange partners at TribLIVE, Comcast has offered to install and run the service.

WiFi would be available at seven stations between the Allegheny and Station Square stops.

Internet access would not be available underground or on the trains.

If approved by the Port Authority Board of Directors, the hot spots could be installed by June.
