Funeral arrangements announced for trooper killed in line of duty

A Pennsylvania state trooper who was killed in the line of duty Friday will be laid to rest this week.

Visitation for Trooper Landon Weaver, 23, will be held Wednesday at the Blair County Convention Center followed by his funeral Thursday morning. Weaver will be buried with honors at Fairview Cemetery in Martinsburg.

, Weaver was a 2002 graduate of Central High School in Martinsburg. He attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania until he was accepted into the State Police Academy.

Upon graduation from the academy on June 17, he was assigned to the Huntingdon Barracks.

Weaver was married in June.

Weaver was killed while responding to a domestic situation in Juniata Township. The man accused of killing him was shot and killed after an overnight manhunt.
