Giant Eagle Tightens 'Fuelperks' Program Rules

None — Giant Eagle has made some changes to its popular fuel rewards program.

The company's "Fuelperks" program is a points program that gives customer discounts on gas based on grocery purchase amounts.

Once shoppers hit a certain amount in grocery sales, they receive a discount on fuel purchased at the chain's GetGo gas stations.

The plan is very popular among shoppers, but Giant Eagle is tightening the rules.

Under the new regulations, shoppers must use their Fuelperks points two months after the last day of the month in which they're earned. The cutoff used to be three months.

By comparison, the points for Shop 'n Save's "Pump Perks" program expire after 60 days. Gas rewards offered through Foodland expire at the end of the month following the month they were earned.

By signing up for the fuel programs, you can earn a discount of 10 cents a gallon on gas, by purchasing $50 in groceries.
