WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa. — A hazmat team was called Tuesday to the scene of a tractor-trailer crash in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 in Fallowfield Township, Washington County 911 dispatchers confirmed.
The accident near mile marker 35 was reported just before 4:30 p.m.
Dispatchers said the hazmat team was called because of a major diesel fuel leak.
The tractor-trailer driver told police that one of his tires blew, causing him to hit the Jersey barrier and bounce off a few other barriers before coming to a rest.
The driver was not hurt, but he was taken to a hospital to be evaluated.
All the westbound lanes reopened just before 8:30 p.m.
