Hershey hockey fans break teddy bear record

HERSHEY, PENNSYLVANIA — Hockey fans tossed more than 20-thousand teddy bears onto the ice and beat their old record.

The Pennsylvania Hershey Bears' first goal Sunday signaled the start of an annual tradition- The Teddy Bear Toss.

This year fans threw 20, 062 bears and other stuffed animals down over the boards and onto the ice.

Bears of all sizes, big and small, but a 7-footer stood out.

It took two people to get the monster bear down the stairs and over the boards.

The bears will find new homes with children in need around central Pennsylvania, including those participating in the Children's Miracle Network.  The previous record was just over 18,000 bears.
