Florida man grabs police Taser after being tased five times

Florida Police arrested 25-year-old Floyd Thomas Coburn and charged him with several counts including depriving a law enforcement officer of his protection, after police were called to a disturbance at an area Steak ‘n Shake

A Florida man grabbed an officer’s Taser after being tased five times during an arrest on Tuesday.

Floyd Thomas Coburn, 25, was arrested and charged with resisting arrest with violence and depriving a law enforcement officer of his protection after police were called to a disturbance at a Florida-area Steak 'n Shake, according to the Daily Commercial.

When Coburn’s girlfriend drove off following an argument at the restaurant, Coburn ran across five lanes of traffic to try and stop her from driving away, Daily Commercial reports.

Officers tried to get Coburn out of the road, but when he refused and balled his fists to fight, he was tased. He was then tased two more times for not remaining on the ground and then another two times for resisting being handcuffed, according to the Daily Commercial.

Before he could be tased a sixth time, Coburn grabbed the stun gun away from an officer. He stopped resisting after a second officer pulled a firearm.

Coburn remains in Lake County Jail on $14,000 bail.
