• Penguins fan attending game alone offers extra ticket to homeless man

PITTSBURGH - A Pittsburgh Penguins fan’s good deed has gone viral.
Jimmy Mains, who works as a police officer in Rankin, posted on Facebook about his encounter with a homeless man last Friday while walking to PPG Paints Arena for the Penguins game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Mains said the man asked him for money, which Mains didn’t have. Instead, Mains offered the man, who he identified as Rob, an extra ticket that he had been unable to sell for the Pens game.
He said Rob thought at first he was kidding and was “ecstatic” to be offered the ticket.
"He was ecstatic. I can't really describe it. He was running up the steps into PPG Paints Arena, and I was like, 'Dude, you don't even know where you're going yet, but we'll get there,'" Mains said.
The pair attended the game, which the Pens won 5-2, together. Mains said Rob never stopped smiling.
