Snake on plane in Alaska, passengers help catch it

Passengers aboard an Alaskan commuter plane heading to Anchorage were surprised when the pilot made an unusual announcement during the flight: “Guys we have a loose snake on the plane, but we don’t know where it is,” the BBC reported.

A previous passenger on the Ravn Alaska flight brought a pet snake aboard. He got off at an earlier stop, but his snake did not.

The pale yellow, 5-foot snake was eventually found sleeping near the back of the plane, first spotted by a boy who saw it partially covered by a carry-on bag.

Crew members grabbed the snake and put it in a garbage bag. The nonvenomous reptile spent the rest of the flight in an overhead bin.

The passenger did not declare the snake before boarding the flight, which is a violation of Ravn Alaska policy, the airline said.
