Store steps up to help customers after Goodnight Baby abrupt closure

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Target 11 dug deeper into a baby furniture store that just shut down leaving families, including expectant mothers, in a bind.

A lot of families are without the furniture they'll soon need for their little ones.

But now, another local store is coming to their aid.

Rebeca Taylor owns the All About Kids Furniture Store in Washington.

She heard about the abrupt closing of Goodnight Baby in Ross Township and decided to lend a helping hand.

“We offered customers to replace their orders through us, and we've been working with our manufacturers to try to get their orders in within a matter of a few weeks, to kind of give them some peace of mind,” Taylor said. “I think it's a shame how they handled going out of business. They could have done it a little better in giving people refunds back instead of letting them do all the legwork. We've dealt with customers who paid with cash and check, and obviously they have no recourse at this point.”

Goodnight Baby had been in business for 26 years.

A sign posted on the door said it was unable to continue financially due to market conditions.
