Jury finds man guilty in 2012 murder of pregnant woman in Beaver County

BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — A man who was convicted of killing a pregnant woman in Beaver County in 2012 was found guilty again on Monday after he was granted a new trial.

Marlin Kelly was found guilty of second-degree murder in 2014 and was sentenced to two life terms for the death of Conekeia “Coco” Finney and her unborn child. The Pennsylvania State Court later vacated the judgment after Kelly appealed.

Kelly was again found guilty Monday by a jury in the new trial. The decision was unanimous, Channel 11’s Amy Marcinkiewicz reported.

Finney’s mother told Marcinkiewicz that it has been 4 1/2 years of sorrow and emptiness, and now she can move on with her life.

“I thank God that he is the truth and the light and he's right where he belongs with my baby and my grandchild,” Elaine Finney said. “My baby can lay to rest now."

Police said Kelly and Tyrone Fuller went in 2012 to an apartment in Ambridge, where heroin had just been sold. The accused rival drug dealers showed up as a pregnant Finney, 30, was leaving the apartment, which was her boyfriend’s. She was shot once in the chest and died, along with her unborn baby.

“It’s over, (so) now we can rest and go ahead on with our life,” said Donna Stevenson, a family friend.

Kelly is behind bars awaiting sentencing.
