11 arrested during downtown protest of Gov. Corbett's proposed education cuts

PITTSBURGH — Police said 11 people were arrested Wednesday during a planned protest of Gov. Tom Corbett's proposed education cuts.

About 200 protesters marched from the United Steelworkers building to Corbett's downtown office.

Police said when some of the protesters weren't allowed in the building they sat down and blocked traffic on Fifth and Wood avenues.

Officers said the 11 protesters will face obstructing traffic charges.
