2 injured after truck, trolley collide in Bethel Park

BETHEL PARK, Pa. — Two people were taken to a Pittsburgh hospital after a pickup truck and a light rail trolley collided early Saturday morning in Bethel Park, police said.

The accident happened on the Blue Line-Library route at the intersection of Route 88 and Logan Road about 12:20 a.m., said Port Authority spokesman Jim Ritchie.

Police said the two people were taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Their names have not been released.

No one on the T car was injured, said Ritchie.

Trolley service was restored shortly before 12 p.m.
