2 injured in shooting at Beaver County social club

HOPEWELL, Pa. — Two people were injured in a shooting early Saturday in the parking lot of the American Serbian Club in Hopewell, acting police Chief Vince Cipolla said.

Dispatchers said police from 10 agencies throughout the county responded to a report of a fight with weapons around 1 a.m. at the club on Brodhead Road.

Officers found a woman lying in the parking lot who had been shot in the shoulder, Cipolla said. She was taken by helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian hospital where she underwent surgery and was listed in stable condition.

A man who turned up at Sewickley Valley Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to his hand was questioned by police. No one else was injured.

Hopewell police have not arrested any suspects and the case remains under investigation, Cipolla said.
