2 La Roche students accused of pointing toy guns on campus; Charges filed

PITTSBURGH — Channel 11's Renee Kaminski reported that two La Roche College students are facing charges after pointing toy guns on campus.

Kaminski said the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Monday.

According to investigators, Haotian Liu, 21, and Dixiaonan Zhou, 23, are facing possession of a weapon on school property and disorderly conduct charges.

Witnesses said it appeared the two were firing what looked like an assault rifle and a .45 in front of the campus bookstore.

"The officers had to approach it in a tactical manner, as if they were active shooters," said Gary Anderson of McCandless police.

Officials said it wasn't until later they discovered the guns were fake.
