• Feds arrest Romanian nationals accused of placing skimming devices in 2 Pittsburgh post offices

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Two men are accused of putting skimming devices on stamp machines at two Pittsburgh post offices.

Channel 11 was the only station at the McKnight Road post office when federal agents caught up with the two men this week.

Federal agents said the men, Ion Carligeriu and Florin Popescu, took $25,000 from unsuspecting customers.

Federal agents said the Romanian nationals were retrieving their skimming device that stole credit/debit card numbers and pin numbers off an automated postal machine in the lobby of the McKnight Road office.

Channel 11 has learned that 21 accounts were compromised and that the suspicious activity was picked up by PNC Bank, who alerted authorities.

Investigators said a skimming device was also used at a post office in Squirrel Hill.
