2 men arrested in connection with string of North Hills burglaries

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police said two men were arrested and admitted to breaking into several homes in the North Hills area.

Investigators said 26-year-old Brian Flesher and 24-year-old Garret Lucas, both from Pittsburgh, broke into three Ross Township homes late last year.

Ross Township police Det. Brian Kholhepp said the men admitted to the burglaries during an interview and gave investigators an explanation.

"They both admitted to problems they had in their personal lives which caused a desperate need for cash and through this they were committing the burglaries throughout the North Hills area, "Kholhepp said.

Court documents said the two may be connected to burglaries in McCandless, Ohio Township, Franklin Park and Pine Township.

Officers said the men stole everything from cash to electronics. Most of the break-ins happened during the day, police said, while the homeowners were at work.

"The vast majority of residential burglaries happen during the day while you're off at work because the burglars don't want to encounter anybody," said Kholepp.

The men could face more charges in connection with burglaries in other areas.
