3 injured in stabbing during neighbor dispute

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — Three people were hospitalized after a fight between neighbors escalated overnight in Westmoreland County.

Police told Channel 11's Brandon Hudson that they're searching for the person who stabbed two men and a woman on Fifth Avenue in New Kensington.

According to Channel 11’s news exchange partners at The Valley News Dispatch, officers found one of the men lying in the middle of the street.

“I heard somebody talking outside, and I looked out the window. I saw somebody down on their hands and knees,” neighbor Joe Fair said.

Investigators said the argument began between neighbors in different apartments. One of the victims lived in the apartment and the other two were friends.

“We do know that it was an altercation between the second and third floor tenants,” New Kensington Police Chief Tom Klawinski said.

The victim’s names haven’t been released.

“A female received a cut to her arm. She was treated and released,” Klawinski said.

According to Klawinski, the two men needed surgery but are expected to survive.
