Animal Control rescues 7 dogs from Washington County home

CHARTIERS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Animal Control officers said dogs were removed from the home of a Washington County man and woman accused of neglecting the animals on Thursday.

According to officials, seven dogs were taken from Marci Klinzing and William Moore's Chartiers Township home.

A Chartiers Township road crew worker spotted an emaciated dog tied to a tree outside the home and alerted police, according to court documents.

Police said the worker stated he could see the ribs through the dog's skin, and it looked severely malnourished.

Klinzing and Moore told Channel 11’s Brandon Hudson they are heartbroken that Animal Control took the dogs and they are awaiting for their court date to find out what charges they face.

A Humane Society officer said this, combined with 20 other complaints from neighbors led to animal control officers taking the dog and six others.

Officials said this this wasn't the first time Animal Control has visited the house. Officers removed 60 animals from the property in 2004.

The Humane Society told WPXI, the dogs, which include huskies, shepherd and lab mixes, are healthy.
