Armed robbers hit Brentwood bank, flee on foot

BRENTWOOD, Pa. — Police are looking for two men who robbed a Brentwood bank at gunpoint Friday morning.

Authorities said two men in their 20s wearing hoodies and sunglasses robbed "a bag of money" from the First National Bank on Brownsville Road and Town Square Way just before 11 a.m.

Investigators said a handgun was shown during the robbery, and the robbers fled the scene on foot.

Customer Oscar Jernstrom was just about to go into the bank when he saw two men leaving.

"They came out with hoodies on and walked real fast to the steps going to Brownsville Road," said Jernstrom.

Channel 11 was at the scene while Brentwood, Baldwin and the Allegheny County Forensics Lab investigated and collected evidence for part of the day.

The bank robbery happened while the Brentwood Towne Center was full of people.  Jernstrom suspects the robbers planned it that way.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact police.
