PITTSBURGH - A 41-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning during a raid at his Carrick home.
Authorities said Stephen Chojnicki was arrested on an outstanding warrant, but he’s also facing animal abuse and drug-related charges.
Investigators told Channel 11 News they have proof that animals inside Chojnicki’s home were severely abused.
Our cameras were the only ones there as officials removed multiple dogs, including a cocker spaniel and German shepherd name Capone, from the home Tuesday.
Neighbors said Chojnicki lives at the home with his elderly mother.
“I haven’t seen the German shepherd, but the little one, the mother walks it all the time,” said a neighbor.
Police said they found hypodermic needles and empty stamp bags of heroin inside the home.
Authorities said Chojnicki’s 29-year-old girlfriend, Mika Stock, was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
