Authorities search for inmate accused of escaping from local corrections center

PITTSBURGH — Police said they're searching for a man accused of escaping from a Pittsburgh correctional facility.

According to investigators, Reshawn Gibson was granted a work-release pass and failed to return to the Renewal Community Corrections Center on Wednesday.

Police said Gibson is currently serving time for robbery with serious bodily injury charges and has an extensive criminal history, including drug, weapon and assault violations.

A warrant has been issued for Gibson. Anyone with information should contact state police at 412-787-2000.
