Authorities seize narcotics, guns in 2 Washington Co. raids

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa. — The Washington County District Attorney's Drug Task Force executed two search warrants and confiscated thousands of dollars in illegal narcotics and guns.

According to DA Eugene Vittone, the first warrant was served late Thursday night at a home on Gilmore Avenue in Donora.

The warrant resulted from an ongoing investigation by the Task Force detectives into the distribution of heroin from the home. The target, 30-year-old Christopher Byrd, was arrested and placed in the Washington County Jail on $200,000 bond.

During the raid, Vittone said authorities seized 54 bricks of heroin, a semi-automatic 9mm pistol and about $6,400 in cash.

On Friday, the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a home on North Kings Creek Road in Hanover Township.

Vittone said Jebidia Keiser Jr. was taken into custody and faces various possession with intent charges.

During the raid, authorities seized several live marijuana plants, oxycodone and hydrocodone pills. They also confiscated a .45-caliber pistol.

"I am very proud of law enforcement today. Many people do not realize just how large this county is in terms of land area. These two separate investigations are located 50 miles apart, yet our task force was able to successfully coordinate and safely execute these warrants within the past 16 hours," Vittone said. "This demonstrates the professionalism and the resolve of these police detectives in the drug task force to fight dangerous drugs anywhere they are located within Washington County. I appreciate their efforts and the work that they do," Vittone said.
