Baby found unresponsive in Hill District home remains in critical condition

PITTSBURGH — A baby found unresponsive in a Hill District home Thursday night remains in critical condition Friday.

Pittsburgh police said they were called to the home on Bedford Avenue around 8:30 p.m.

According to officials, the 3-month-old was napping with a relative for a few moments when he or she stopped breathing.

Housing Authority security officers performed CPR on the child until officers arrived and took over.

Paramedics then arrived and transported the baby to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, where he or she remains.
